What to Consider in Selecting an EFB
As part of your due-diligence in looking at competitive EFB systems, here are some of the critical things to think about.

 
Yes No Does the CPU utilize a reliable high-speed Intel Pentium processor that is also upgradeable as your needs and requirements change?

Yes No Does the CPU come with the most current version of Windows XP?

Yes No Does the CPU come with at least 512MB of memory and is it upgradeable as your needs and requirements change?

Yes No Do you have the choice of different size displays with resolution up to 1024x768?

Yes No Do the displays feature resistive touch and do not require a special stylus?

Yes No Do you have upgrade options on the disk drive including the option for a solid state disk drive in a size up to 12GB?

Yes No Does the system provide a self-regulating power supply that accepts all DC voltage between 12 - 28v?

Yes No Does the system provide for a built-in emergency battery pack to provide for full system functionality for a minimum of 45 minutes should regular DC power supply be lost?

Yes No Does the system offer multiple connectivity - with at least 3 USB, 3 Serial RS232/422 and 4 Ethernet?

Yes No Does the system offer fully functional operation is a wide temperature range from -10°C to + 50°C?
